Dormitory Network<\/h1>\n

If you find your dormitory network is disconnected, please perform basic checks first.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you find your dormitory network is disconnected, please first check your computer’s network status using the following steps:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Is your roommate’s network working properly? Is the entire dormitory disconnected? Is the same problem also occurring in the dorms across the hall and adjacent dormitories?<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. If your roommate’s network is working properly, please connect your computer to their network port to confirm that it is working properly. (If you still cannot connect, there may be a problem with your computer settings.)<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. If your roommate’s network is working properly, please connect their computer to your network port to confirm that it is working properly. (If your roommate cannot connect, there may be a problem with your network port. Please report this to the computer center immediately.)<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Check if your computer’s network card is working properly.<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Check if the network cable is old, has poor connection, or is the cable connector loose.<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. Is your personal computer operating properly? Regarding computer viruses and Trojans: All dormitory network users must install antivirus software on their personal computers and regularly update virus definition files. If you haven’t purchased or installed antivirus software, you can install the university-authorized antivirus software. Please download and install it yourself:<\/span>\n

    2. If you don’t have antivirus software installed, the Center reserves the right to restrict network access.<\/span><\/li>\n
    3. Check your TCP\/IP settings for errors.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Request Troubleshooting<\/strong><\/p>\n

      1. If you have a dormitory network problem, please <\/span>register online<\/span><\/a>. A member of the Computer Center will inquire about your situation to determine the likelihood of the problem and arrange a time for repairs. Someone must be present during the repair.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
