Installation and Authorization Activation
- The installation software is in the form of an ISO disc image. You can burn it to a DVD using burning software, mount the ISO file using a virtual drive, or decompress the ISO file using decompression software for installation.
- Authorization Activation Method: You must first connect to the campus network (either the dormitory network or the academic and administrative area network) and use the on-campus KMS server to authenticate the activation. Re-authentication is required if you have been away from the campus network for more than 180 days. To activate the authorization off-campus, you must first establish a Tzu Chi University SSL VPN connection and use the on-campus KMS server to authenticate the activation. (Please refer to the SSL-VPN User Guide.)
- To query the SSLVPN password, log in to [School Administration] and select [Computer Center] → [Wireless Network and VPN Management]. (SSL-VPN Password Query Guide.)
- Activation Authorization Process: After downloading the KMS activation authentication program and unzipping the file, run the authentication program as a system administrator and follow the menus to select the license software you wish to activate. (Please refer to the KMS Activation Guide.)
Precautions
- The BIOS of some desktop or laptop computers is designed to work with the original equipment manufacturer’s (OEM) version of the Windows operating system. If the manufacturer does not provide a BIOS update to remove this restriction, the school’s Windows operating system upgrade cannot be installed. We recommend that you do not install the school’s Windows upgrade.
- For common KMS activation error codes, please refer to the KMS Error Code Guide.
